Dying Colt Makes Transformation With Lots Of Love

The story of a dying colt named Gizmo is sure to grip your heart. Originally posted to Facebook, the baby’s rags-to-riches story took the internet by storm. And you’re about to see why…

gizmo1 | Paw My Gosh — This four-month-old colt was found on the brink of death in a roadside field.

gizmo2 | Paw My Gosh — Unable to move or breathe normally, the Catley Cross Veterinary Clinic immediately took Gizmo in. They could tell right away he was suffering from hypothermia and pneumonia.

gizmo3 | Paw My Gosh — It would be a long road to recovery, but with donations coming in it helped him get the care he needed.

gizmo4 | Paw My Gosh — As they went through numerous medical treatments, the staff began to fall in love with Gizmo. Just look at that sweet face! 🙂

gizmo5 | Paw My Gosh — Of all the medicine and treatments Gizmo received, love may have been the most important thing.

gizmo6 | Paw My Gosh — Being able to socialize with other horses was also a big help!

gizmo7 | Paw My Gosh — Gizmo was then permanently adopted by the Halstead veterinary clinic.

gizmo8 | Paw My Gosh — From there, Gizmo went on to win several RSPCA awards including Rescue Horse of the Year.

gizmo9 | Paw My Gosh — In just six months, Gizmo went from a dying colt to winning awards while surrounded by love. The judges absolutely loved his story!

gizmo10 | Paw My Gosh — A veterinary surgeon at Catley Cross Veterinary Clinic said “I thought one judge was laughing in the championship but he was sobbing. They all came up and said congratulations. [Gizmo] slept all the way home and is having a very well deserved morning in the field.”

We are absolutely overwhelmed by the messages of support and the kindness shown to Gizmo and ourselves in the last few days. It's incredible and heart warming to think so many people have followed and still follow his story. We have been so lucky to be part of Gizmos recovery and we hope that you, our lovely general public, know that he is alive because you all rallied in his time of need….from around the world, animal lovers came together to restore both our and Gizmos faith in humanity.
Today he spent the day in a huge grassy paddock and came in tonight for dinner and a massage with some of his lovely prizes…..we can't express how much we love him…..
